Craven Early College will be the highest performing high school in NC.
Mission Statement
Craven Early College, united with families, communities, and Craven Community College, will provide all students with a rigorous, challenging academic environment that encourages and actively supports high school and college graduation. Our students will be globally competitive for post-graduate education, careers, and life in the 21st century.
Welcome to Craven Early College!
Craven Early College (CEC) was created out of a strong partnership between Craven County Schools and Craven Community College. The school is a small non-traditional high school located on the campus of the college. The school's small size supports innovative ideas, creative teachers and attention to detail.
Students who attend this five-year program will have the opportunity to graduate with a high school diploma and up to two years of college credit toward a bachelor's degree or an associate's degree (at no cost to student) in one of the following pathways: Education, Engineering, Manufacturing, Health Science, Informational Technology, and Associate of Science.
The structure of CEC fosters academic acceleration, personalization and connections to workplace knowledge and skills. Job shadowing experiences will occur during years one and two. Students will have internship and apprenticeship opportunities as upperclassmen. Extensive support is provided to each student. This school is centered on improving graduation rates and preparing students for life-long learning and entry into high-skill careers.
